Coach and Client Feedback

Individualized training programs require a significant amount of feedback between coach and client. From the client's perspective, the upfront feedback during their consultation is vital to outline the future training that will be created for their program. Ongoing communication from the client can provide the coach with helpful information to ensure that the training stimulus and goals within the session are being reached. From the coach's viewpoint, feedback can come in various forms in our training environment at Elkhorn Valley Fitness. Our coaches are responsible for leading floor coaching sessions where they work with many clients at once. Each one of the clients will be doing their designated training under a watchful eye of a trained coach. Whether it is a quick conversation after a lift/exercise is completed or if the feedback comes after watching a video from a remote training session, it is so valuable to take this information to upgrade the client's program for future training sessions. As the coach and client relationship builds, each individual can grow their trust in the other to be assured that progress is being made. Regular consultations are held with our clients to provide this relationship the foundation for long-term sustainability. We work with both onsite clients as well as remote clients. We utilize our technology platform/partner, FitBot, to facilitate the program design/delivery, communication, and progress tracking for all of our clients. Here is an example of remote client Omar's training session: Warmup foam roll + 3-4 minutes row 100ft walking lunge + OH reach 30-45 sec side bridge each side 20 glute bridge Training Session A) Back Squat @ 30x1; 3x8 - Rest 2:00 B) KB Front Rack Carry; 3x150ft - Rest 1:30 C) DB OH Walking Lunge; 3x12 steps - Rest 1:30
**14kg db, 3 sets, video on 2nd set, locked elbows and straightened arms on 3rd set
D) 4 Sets - Row 750m @ 2:00-2:08 500m pacing Rest 3:30-4:00

This was a great example of communication across dozens of time zones! Omar's notes in his FitBot session shows great awareness of what we are trying to accomplish in our coach/client relationship. He recognized he needed to lock his elbows on his OH walking lunges and made the correction in his final set! If you are looking for a new coach to help you with your goals, we would love to schedule a consultation with you. Our coaches are ready to help you with your journey!
