Are you ready to test your fitness?

Training programs are ubiquitous.
You see them on the magazine rack when you check out at the grocery store or at Target. They probably show up in your social media feed based on a characteristic that you exhibited or after performing a search on Google.
But, what's the type of testing and training that you should complete? How often should your testing be placed in your training program?
The answer to these questions should be able to be answered by your coach. To quickly summarize, the answer to the above question is "it depends." There are so many factors that determine the type of training and testing as well as the frequency of the testing that is completed.
However, one thing that is consistent with the answer is that it needs to be unique and individualized for the client.
Testing principles that we utilize:
-Future testing can be duplicated
-It supports the function for the individual
-The test does not put the client in harm or risk of injury
-What is the relationship with other testing components (advanced over time)
Here are some testing results from FitBot that we collected from Chris this week:
The tests performed above tell us a lot about his starting point and progress from his training. His absolute strength, aerobic ability, structural balance, and overall balance are identified in tests such as these.
After working with Chris for a longer time, we were able to implement additional tests that showed us more about his balance from left side to right side. Regardless of the test performed, we use the same principles outlined above on an individual approach.
In these tests we can get more specific in our program design based on what we see from the testing results.
Chris is very good example of the client that we work with at Elkhorn Valley Fitness, home of OPEX Omaha West. He is an entrepreneur, husband, father of 2 boys, and wants his fitness program to support his role as the provider for his family.
In the month of October we are waiving the assessment fee for new clients that begin with us. We have grown our staff and Coach Steve and Coach Sara will be applying their knowledge gained in the Assessment section of their OPEX Coaching Certification Program.

We would love the opportunity to work with you. Come tell us your story, complete the initial assessment, and we will design a program that aligns with your schedule. We transform lives every day and we help with nutrition, lifestyle, and exercise! To schedule your FREE assessment, complete the CONSULTATION link!
