Hey coach...I need some help!

The relationship between coach and client requires constant evolution. One of the methods that we have implemented to help our clients on their journey is to ask a quick survey at the end of the training week. We obviously see them in the gym during their training sessions, but so much of the big picture of success is done outside of the gym.
Most of our clients invest about an hour on the days that they train with us. That leaves 23 hours remaining in the day! This requires a trusting relationship to provide guidance and support outside of the traditional gym/training session.
The frequency of training sessions depends largely on the goals, training experience, and resources (time) available. Balancing work, family, social, and extracurricular activities can be challenging, and this is where having a coach on your team is very important.
In our model, the coach is much more than a cheerleader or rep-counter. The coach delivers a program that is 100% customized for the individual. As opposed to a personal trainer that charges per session, our model has one flat rate per month.
Here are some trends that we found from our most recent survey. These responses will help our coaching staff create additional learning opportunities for our clients. We strive to continually upgrade our service and provide the absolute best solution for our team at Elkhorn Valley Fitness, home of OPEX Omaha West.
Nutrition:
I need some nutrition guidance. I'm happy I'm getting stronger, but I can't see any physical results yet, which is frustrating. I need to do a better job of meal planning
Nutrition needs to improve and I am working on my scheduling difficulties.
I feel so good in the short time I've been coming. I want to make sure I don't burnout with the combination of food plan & training.
Lots of snacks high in protein and fats
I am anticipating some additional stress over the next month and I know I really need to watch my nutrition, especially portions.
I did not eat enough veggies this last week . Review my food journal and give me input.
The nutrition feedback was excellent and we are discussing how to make those changes.
Time management:
Too much time on work; trying to correct. Good effort on work-outs, but need to get more sleep.
Time spent was a big improvement over past weeks...still not where I want it to be.
I'm just pumped that my schedule is back to half-way normal.
I am not sure that I always spend time on the right things when it comes to nutrition, recovery, rest, etc.
Training specific:
I am still trying to figure out the weights. How much struggle is too much?
You adjusting my rest days like you already do is the best thing
Work and life balance:
Work has been very successful, but it has also been very draining. We will have a schedule change in about 2 weeks which will hopefully help. I wish I knew how to have others help me.
I think so - good week - no regrets - good balance of work/family/friends
There are some great examples of maturation on the fitness/nutrition/balance continuum. This is a prime reason that the program designed for the individual needs to be individualized. We are all in a different location on our journey!
Thanks to our clients for taking time to complete these responses. Our coaches will grow as professionals when they are challenged to #teachLEARNmoveCREATE
