Taking the first step

When we begin working with our clients there are several steps that we complete before we begin designing the work for their program. We believe in a scientific and systematic approach to the fitness program that we prescribe for our clients. Interaction during the consultation provides vital information for the coach: -previous training experience -nutritional challenges from the past -previous or nagging injuries -resources and supporting roles of family and friends -aim, purpose, and values that are important to the individual We take our time to learn about the person sitting across from us. This helps to eliminate the guesswork and allows the coach to begin processing the information into the program that will be designed specifically for that individual.

The relationship that forms in the initial phase of the consultation provides the foundation for future success for both the client and the coach. We ask our coaches to listen to the client's responses and not place judgment on any of the feedback that we receive from the client. Taking an unbiased approach during this phase is critical. Open and candid communication allows the recipe to come together once all of the steps have been completed in our standard assessment that we go through with all of our clients. Individualized program design is beneficial for anyone that takes their fitness, nutrition, and lifestyle seriously. The client can be assured that the coach is aware of their previous training experience, their current goals for training, and the coach is able to closely monitor their compliance and make adjustments if necessary. If there are limitations to movement or mobility, these are identified early in the assessment and drive the basis for the exercises selected in the program. In our experience, many times exercises are prescribed in group class settings that have no benefit being given to certain individuals. We believe everyone is unique in their fitness and nutrition journey. If you think that individual design is only reserved for people that are competing in the sport of fitness or "athletes" we would love to explain the benefits of having a coach that is in your corner for your long-term success.
Our coaches work with a broad range of clients that present unique training requirements and we are glad to provide an alternative solution to the one-size-fits all mentality of group or bootcamp classes.
