What's your philosophy on training?

The main objective in our consultations is to learn about the client and gather information about their past training, previous injuries, nutritional journeys/experience, stress, sleep quality, key objectives/goals, etc.
Sometimes during these sessions, however, the role gets reversed and we get asked questions by the client sitting across from us.
That was the case yesterday when our newest client Shannon completed her consultation.
After our standard list of questions had been completed and we were concluding our session, she asked me about our philosophy on training. Shannon has some experience with other trainers and gyms in Omaha, but she wanted to hear our definition.
My response to this 6 years ago would have been completely different from that of today. After 5 years of "teaching" the fundamental movements outlined by my original and ongoing education, I came to the conclusion that something had to change.
My eyes were opened to a more sustainable and scientific based method of training.
My mind was opened to the OPEX Individual Design model.
In this model, the coach and the client establish rapport and trust in a one coach/one client system. The trust in the relationship is built and cultivated through:
-Caring
-Reliability
-Competency
My response and philosophy on training includes the following:
-Meet the client where they are at right now
-Provide a solution that is within my area of experience (stay in my lane)
-Do no harm to the client
-Utilize proven principles in energy systems and resistance training
This was helpful for her to understand what she was going to experience with OPEX Omaha West and Elkhorn Valley Fitness.
If your training program, lifestyle demands, nutritional needs, or support from your existing trainer or gym are not aligning with your roadmap for success, we have a solution for you.

We have an exciting new challenge starting this month and we will share the news soon!
